What exactly are you trying to do? What program are you using? More info, please, so we can help you better.

Have you tried System Preferences? What about monitoring options in the program you are using?

Mas informacion, por favor!

Hi, I use jasmine or audio recorder 1.3.1 or the record sound option in Imovie. I can´t hear the sound directly only when is recordered. I try to configure Audio and midi settings but i only choose built in audio controller to reproduce the sound. This controller reproduce all the sounds except the audio in minijack directly and i can´t change it. I try to send more information about my problem. thanks for the answer

I don't know Jasmine or Audio Recorder at all, I'm afraid, so I can't help with them. Part of the problem might be that the programs don't have a direct monitoring function - or if they do, maybe you don't have it switched on.

If you were using an external audio device (Edirol, M-audio, Grifin iMic etc, USB or FireWire), you could monitor the audio in from there.

You say it works in OS 9, so the problem might be that the same function isn't available under OS X.

Multitrack sequencers like Logic, Cubase etc are working fine in OS X, though, so let us know if anything works or give us more details.

I know what your talking about but am not familar with your programs. I'm using 10.2.4. Just for the sake of testing, try using this piece of Shareware. I've used Sound Studio flawlessly for bringing in hours of audio tapes with a Sony tape recorder Walkman device plugged into my Macs audio in port. IMPORTANT- There is a "soft" and "hard" box you need to turn on to be able to hear the audio while bringing it in. I really like this feature being right in the interface for quick on and off while recording.
I also use the BIAS suite of products and you have to set it to hear while recording from the preferences. It's a much more powerful piece of software with a demo available but Sound Studio's sound on off feature is easier to find.
