whatsup guys?

I have LP8 now and was trying to sync a delay to a track using precise numbers ie "51", but whenever I push the "1" key, it triggers screenset 1.

the problem here, is that I want to change the key commands for screensets to use a key modifier ( or delete them, I don't need the screensets really with LP8)...BUT whenever I click on the key command in the preferences it will not let me alter them. I can't change the key used to trigger the command nor the modifier.

anybody else having this problem?

I had the same problem a while ago. I believe I just deleted the key commands for the screensets.

Not easy to delete key commands in Logic 8, I was trying to do it the other day, finally had to look it up in the manual. It is there; if I remember correctly, you click on 'learn new key assignment' and then hit backspace. Which is kind of logical, in a not-very kind of way smile.gif

If you want to type in numbers directly into a field (like track delay), you must DOUBLE-click that field first. You'll then get an outlined box where you CAN type in any number you like. If a field is not selected, then numbers (by default) will change screensets.

Don't ever think you don't need screensets! blink.gif
Screensets have been Logic's most powerful feature since day 1. That's a different topic though....

Anyway, if you want to change any key command, first make a backup of the Logic 8 defaults for safety.
Then, select the key command you want to change. Click on either [Learn by key label] or [Learn by key position] (see manual for details) to enable input. Then just press your preferred key combo. Make sure you switch the [Learn..] button off again.

Hope this helps.
