hi there, hmmmm.... lately i have been frustrated with logic, as everytime i try to play something though my midi controller, the program seems to crash, and i have like only 1 vst insturment open, and no audio tracks running, hmm... and i dont know what exactly it is.. hmmmmmm... i have a powermac 733mhz with 128mb of ram, runing OS9.2, midisport 2x2, and logic audio 5.3, hmmm. i have messed around with the memory allocation a little, but it dosent seem to realy do anything. so excuse me for my ignorance, lol, but any sort of advice would be appreciated

It may be possible that you have some sort of midi feedback loop between your keyboard controller and Logic? That can cause system hangs and crashes sometimes...
We would need more information on how you have your equipment configured to go more in depth with the advice... Details on cabling/routing would be of assistance here... -------------------- Nobody can take from you what you give freely.

well its a pretty simple setup, i have the midisport pluged into my computer, and the keyboard pluged into the midi in, lol
hmmmmmm, i am using the mac AV for audio, i am still thinkng maybe its memory allocation, but i have ajusted it so many times, its like every time i go into logic and play something it just freezes, with minimal insturments open... hmmmmm.... well i guess i will just try and work on it some more.. |

Try booting with BASE extension set - copy it and just enable the neccessary USB driver for the Midisport, Logic dongle, OMS etc. Sometimes usb midi devices get grumbly when, for example, USB printer sharing is enabled and the like. Provided logic has a few meg allocated to it above the minimum required, it's rare for this to be a source of problems.
Also, have you tried setting up OMS? Does this receive midi from your controller KB? Sorry, I'm assuming the midisport requires OMS. Like Teiwaz says, let us know more and will try to assist Holli x |

Maybe you need just some more ram into the mac
128 for OS9 AND logic… damn… not sure, but it can do the trick Also are you in 9.2 or 9.22? -------------------- Our Classifeds • Nos petites annonces • Terms Of Service / Conditions d'Utilisation • Forum Rules / Règles des Forums • MacMusic.Org & SETI@Home
