I use GarageBand on a G5 with ample amount of RAM. I'm ready to get another software DAW, mainly because I want to move up to 24-bit and I'd like more recording functions. (I also need to get a 24-bit audio interface). Also, adding to situation is a member of my band is getting a Pro Tools rig. Which should I get, Logic Express or Pro Tools LE?

I'd appreciate your suggestions. Thanks!

i say it depends on whether youre dong mostly MIDI stuff or audio recording. logic is renowned for having MIDI as its speciality and PT for audio. If your band mate is getting a tools rig, the logic might compliment it quite well.
also another thing to consider, is I have an Mbox2 and a 15" PowerBook G4, and it cant provide enough power out of its USB ports to give the mbox enough juice for phantom. so, i need to run it through a powered hub as well. so i'd just look at the compatibility of both systems as well.
