 M Audio Omnistudio Inputs Not Working With Logic Express |

On my G4 Powerbook using Logic Express 7.2 I cannot get an input signal using an Omnistudio interface. I pick up a signal on the actual interface from a mic and the output is working from Logic to the interface so am a little confused. I have made sure i haven't missed anything basic.
