I bought the M-audio firewire 410 and M-powered pro tools 7 and was running them on the new macbook intel duo core. Everything was lovely, until my brand spanking new macbook started randomly shutting down on me, in the middle of sessions I must add. To make a long story short, I exchanged my beloved macbook with the new Imac "17" with the new duo core 2 chip. The M-powered pro tools seems to be working fine, but the M-audio 410 isn't being recognized. I'm aware that M-audio must update their drivers for this new chip, but I haven't heard any news. Has any 1 out heard anything?

Yeah, I must say it was running damn good, til the random shut off issues. The OS was 10.4.6 and I also at one point updated to 10.4.7, and it still ran just fine. The drive is downloadable on @ m-audio.com, click drivers, Digidesign also has a update you must download for the mac intel's in order for M-powered pro tools 7.1 to work with the 410.

The shutdown problem on MacBooks is a known issue for the first production. Apple is replacing logic boards.
