Has anyone else tried the www.wizoosounds.com downloads? I recently found that they had posted the VST Drums series of loops online.
Having been waiting to buy the CDs (not easy in France..) I tried out three files (21 Euros). All of them had popping problems during playback on my VST 4.1r2, Mac OS 9.2, G4. Every time a new loop is triggered there is a audible crack, which stays even when the song is mixdown to two track AIFF. One file had some kind of sample problem as one instrument was mixed into every sample. Has anyone got these to work, or used the corresponding CDs successfully? Thanks, R. Arthur |

I have recycle and cubase. Sometimes when I import recycle files into cubase I get those same 'cracks or pops'. I found upon inspection of the audio file that when recycle 'splits ' the audio it sometimes creates overlapping events and even very small events with no audio, sometimes hidden behind other events. These can create the 'clicking' u hear. Go into your editor, expand the display resolution and you'll find that when u tidy up the parts the noises will go. I don't know whether it's recycle or cubase's fault but I just work around it and it fixes it every time.

Thanks for the tip. The other problem I have is that the files show up with no audio in Cubase. When I try to click to open them in the audio editor I get some kind of "no file" error. Yet they play back!

hmmm...that's an interesting one. Have u tried saving the song, quitting and then re-opening it? When cubase imports a recycle file it creates another audio file in the audio file folder u specify for the song. check 2 see if it's there or if the audio editor recognises it's there. maybe open it in another application 2 see how it looks. just a few thoughts, good luck.

Make sure that you have the latest version of the REX shared library, It's been updeated to support REX2. Check the propellorheadz site. -------------------- G-Dub

Hi Folks, just an update. Checked the REX shared lib, that was the latest. I did find, as you suggested, that there is an audible click at each file that could be editted out in the part editor - I can't see the audio but I can shorten it a bit. However with at least 50 files and other difficulties finding exactly where to edit this is not really a viable option. I'm going to try to ask for my money back on these.
