Wonder if any Saffire users could let me know if they using Tiger sucessfully with it? I got Tiger recently, but seem to recall that Saffire wasnt Tiger-ready, although Liquid Control is.

Many thx if anyone can enlighten me , I have emailed focusrite, but so far had no response. I have heard that the (none too impressive imho) bundled cubase le does work with tiger if you have version1.08 - thats official on the focusrite site. The Steinberg site, as some will know, doesnt recognise L.E as a supportable product. Thx Steinberg!

Anyways, take care ppl

Phil

It's not written in plain but as it's said to be supported in OS X 10.3.3 or better, and that you can aggregate 2 Saffire in the Tiger AudioMIDIsetup… I come to the conclusion it's compatible wink.gif cool.gif

Thx L, Ive set it up and it does work ok. 24- 96 recording is still untenable tho - maybe the external hard drive I am getting will make this more feasible.

Sdmitri, Im pretty new to this game, so not best person to ask , e g have not heard the Firebox, but all the reviews seem extremely positive and the price is great. Regarding the Saffire, Im more than pleased with the sound quality. The dsp compressor is, to my ears, a complete winner as is the e.q. The claim about "zero latency" is totally justified.

I have had issues with glitches, but (laborious) experimentation has almost neutralised this - so long as I stick to 24 -44. I must stress that I "only" have an emac G4 1.25 Ghz, and have been using the bundled cubase l.e. Hoping to switch to a better sequencer soon. Hopefully, a more experienced Saffire user can post on their verdict.

Best wishes to you both.

Phil

If you're recording audio to your system drive don't expect too much of it…

Recoding audio on the drive with the system, virtual memory and apps is great for bad performances. cool.gif
