Which would you prefer for the price (499$ pro vs about 200$ express on ebay) and the type of computer I have (an ibook g4 that has i think 756 ram): Logic Pro or Logic Express? I would like to record good-quality songs that I plan on doing quite a bit with, not merely just some half-ass songs ideas I want to jot down. I'm on a tight budget but would spend the money for the Apple Pro but only if it's significantly better than Express - is it?
Also, what's everything think of the drum sounds/machine that either of these include? Versatile with time signatures? Realistic? Time-consuming? I've recorded with a boss BR-864 recorder and the drums sounded completely fake and were quite a hassle (I'm a guitarist trying to do this entire recording project solo, the drum sounds are at utmost importance). Any input is appreciated. Ce message a été modifié par jspadea - mer. 1 févr. 2006, 00:36. |

Logic pro comes with more features, better quality effects, and virtual instruments.
for feature comparison go here. http://www.apple.com/logicexpress/comparison.html take the tours of each app. http://www.apple.com/logicpro/quicktours/ http://www.apple.com/logicexpress/quicktour/index.html You can also download the time-limited demo of logic Express from apple's site. I've been using express with great results, but will upgrade to pro this year to gain access to the extra features. -------------------- G-Dub

http://www.macprovideo.com
has DVD tutorials available for sale dealing with Logic. They have a number of demos of them and, while I haven't purchased any myself yet, they look very cool and helpful. If I had the money, I'd go with Logic Pro. I'm running Express presently (as well as Pro Tools LE 7). Of course--and you should check Apple's Web site to make sure I'm correct on this--it might be that you could get Logic Express first and then upgrade to Pro if you decide you really like (and understand) the program. That is, if you have an officially registered copy. |

I've been using Logic Pro7 for quite some time...
I've found that it's wonderful and has many features that you will find very usefull... If you don't have the money - Go with Logic express - it's a wonderful tool that will give you great flexibility - But I think ultimately / If you're really serious about your music - you'll want to move up to Pro - you won't be sorry... Understand that you can also make very professional music with Express as well... Good luck... -------------------- |
