I used the 'bounce' button and all I have is a 'notepad' looking document identified as aiff., but no sound.
Peak 2.7 will load/recognize it, but no sound. I'm running 9.4 with a pretty lean extension set. No manuals (apps from ebay and half.com). can someone tell me how to take a finished piece from logic 4.7 to CD? |

i see you are trying to bounce midi... but do you have the midi routed to virtual instruments or is the audio from external midi sound generator recorded as audio track in Logic? Can you explain your session setup a bit more? Not sure what is going on.

Hi! Thanks for responding.
I'm using Unity DS-1 2.01 via ASIO, and a Quattro for audio. Isn't the Midi? Audio routed to the Masters as soon as they are activated as track or as soon as I record something? |

I don't know Unity very well, however, if you use ASIO with unity the audio signal will not get into logic. It will go directly to the outs of your interface bypassing logic.
When you 'bounce' to disc you need to have the audio signals passing through one of logic's outputs, where the bounce button is. If you don't see a signal on these outputs you can't bounce it. What are the other alternatives for sound output with Unity? Does it not support rewire for instance? If it does Logic supports this. Otherwise if you open the Environment in Logic to the audio mixer layer and choose "New" you will see Internal>Unity DS-1. Can you create one of these objects and use it to link the outs of Unity. Let me know what the preferences are for Audio outs in Unity. Also Unity's manual comes as a PDF. If there isn't a version for 2.1 on bitheadz website (as current version is 3.0) I'm sure they will send you one if you can send them proof that you bought it. |

Hi,formatj,thanks for helping!!!
So ASIO bypasses the apps output. Wow! Yes, Unity does have a PDF,but it generally deals only with Unity itself. The control panel on Unity lists Sound Manager, ASIO,Plugin, (these are selectable on my setup),& Direct I/O & DirectConnect, (these are not selectable). Unity does have a Rewire plugin, but I've never worked with Rewire. I thought it was good for only like Trance music, etc. So it looks like I have to create my own environment. It sounds fun, but looks complicated. I took your advice and created a 'unity object', but no cable plug appeared with it. When I find how to give it a plug, do I cable it to the output object? Right now I have unity on four tracks. Should I create a Unity object for each track/midi channel, and cable them to the corresponding output channel? My bass is on Audio 1, and doesn't register on the Master, either. Thanks so much! |
