Hi,
I know that this sounds like a stupid question but I hope that you will humour me in my ignorance! I need to know if it is possible to convert audio tracks recording using Logic 6 on a Mac so that they will be able to be used in Cubase VST on a PC. A band-mate of mine has asked me to send him some files so he can use them and I have no idea how to or what the best format would be. Any and all help/advice/suggestions will be hugely appreciated. Thanks. |

You'll probably have to bounce each track to a wav file and make sure they all start at the same point so it' easy for him to line them all up...

If he needs just the MIDI then you can export the song as a MIDI file, you'll find that in the File menu.

Yes, go ahead & convert each individual track as its own wav or aiff file (it doesn't matter much which one as most programs will read either) however, if the rendering is coming from a mac, be sure to save each file with "file extensions" - there is a box you can check off in the "save" window on the mac that does this for you. PCs are really stupid that way: if its ANY kind of data file, it will need some kind of extension. At least this has been my experience when moving files between formats. The only exception to this rule that I have seen is when you want to extract track from a finalized audio cd or cd-r.

you're right mortal, it'll have to be .wav or they won't be recognised. You can change the names by hand so you won't need to bounce all over again.
