Hello, Mac user here....I just upgraded my system to a G5 dual processor 1.8 gigs each and bought the Mbox2 bundle. Running Reason 3.0. Got everything hooked up, but can't hear a thing. I can see the song going, levels reading in Protools, but nothing is coming out of the speakers? My Rewire is set properly...no sound.

Anyone have any idea why this is happening. I'v try watching the vid, that came with the Mbox (Protools vids) but they don't seem to be solving the problem.

HELP!

Do either PT or Reason have sound when run separately?

This is getting real basic, but try Pro Tool's drop down Preferences window & make sure that under "Audio" you actually have channels 1 & 2 selected to be "on".

On my antiquated system, it is necessary to have the speakers plugged in to the MBox rather than the computer. If that is indeed the problem, you may need to make sure that your output is routed through the MBox instead of "built-in audio thingy" or anything else you may have. You probably already knew that, but it was something that took me a little while to figure out. If you now have it working, I'd be curious to know what the solution was.

In my experience, all audio from Pro Tools must be routed through the mbox, so connect the speakers there.

Are you hearing any audio directly from pro tools ? That would be the first check.

2nd, have a look at the routing/rewire to pro tools...

Hope this helps

Also, is the "mix" knob turned to playback instead of input?
hope that helps.

Check thoroughly the compato page at Digi, to be sure you're into the versions acknowledged as compatible by Digidesign. If you've done it already, never mind. It may juste be a wrong version of software. unsure.gif

In your Pro Tools session, under "Options," be sure "MIDI Thru" is checked...I think that has to be selected in order to hear your MIDI (in this case Reason) playback.

ATTENTION FORUM ADMINISTRATOR........ ATTENTION FORUM ADMINISTRATOR

SERIOUS PROBLEM-SERIOUS PROBLEM-SERIOUS PROBLEM-SERIOUS PROBLEM

Before I get an iFoot or iPunch I recieved an E-mail from a 440 Forum Member asking for my help with an ADMINISTRATION problem.

Dear Mac Daddy,

I need your help? I have not been able to receive my daily posts by email from the forum for about 4 months now. When I noticed that I was not receiving daily emails from MacMusic, I visited the web site and logged in. As soon as my log in was accepted, the screen message told me that my email address must be changed because it no longer worked.

There's nothing wrong with my email address? I receive email all of the time from all over. I attempted to change it anyway and then the message told me that I should receive an email validation. I never did receive the revalidation email.

I've written the forum's administrator at least 15 times to try to get this fixed and have never received a reply. I can still log in to the MacMusic web site, but I cannot post to the forum. Everything keeps telling me that I have a "pending revalidation" that needs to be performed. And then I ask for the revalidation to be sent, but never receive it.

I miss the forum, I miss talking with you... Could you help me out by posting this for me? Maybe you could get someone's attention to help me out? Thanks.

ATTENTION FORUM ADMINISTRATOR........ ATTENTION FORUM ADMINISTRATOR

Please look into this problem... if not I will continue to Post this message "EVERYDAY". Thank for your help.

Thank you so much.
