Hi,
I haven't been here for a long time!

What is the opinion on Mac's software called SoundTrack?

Thanks,
charlie

I have been waiting for a couple of months now to see what is best for me to buy in the Powerbook line. Making music is something I want to experiment with, it will not be my main thing to do.

I have been thinking of getting a 12" PB, and a 17" flat panel display.
60 Gigs hard drive, max Ram. Should this serve me well?
800 Firewire not a big deal?
Gigabit Ethernet not a big deal?

Thinking of buying Live, Reason, and Oxygen or Edirol, as was suggested.

As always, thanks in advance for your wisdom.

1. Is it just my ignorance, or do software makers do an artful job of NOT being clear about which soft is mainly a sequencer and which is mainly a synth? Seems to me that most product descriptions try and say that the soft is a "complete" package. This to me is confusing.

2. I am wondering about the soft from Native Instruments.
In reading about their products, they seem pretty hot, but I have heard very little about them on the couple of forums that I have checked into.

Opinions please.

Thanks,
charlie

Hi folks,
In regard to machine speed, is buying THE fastest Tibook going to give me a noticeable performance improvement?
I think that there is about a $400 difference between the fastest machine out there and the second fastest, and I was wanting to know if the extra money is well spent.

Am I going to want to get a Gig of RAM or is less than this quite OK?
I know RAM is quite cheap now, but I am wanting to more know if a lot of RAM is a big help or not.

Thanks,
charlie
