This is annoying, because my US122 also only works in a powered port, which means my unpowered usb hub is redundant and I can't use my mouse. Grr! Anyone found a way around this?

For six months I've not been able to use my us122 with my new(ish) mac ibook g4. I plugged it in, updated the drivers, etc. etc. All the lights lit up but I could not get sound in or out. Then I discovered the device setup option at the bottom of the devices menu. Click here and click on vst multitrack and set the ASIO driver to Tascam US122. Easy!

But wait...

It STILL won't work! It crashes Cubase! Doh...

But salvation came in the form of my stepson. He helped me discover that it's a clash with the Mac's sound handling capabilities. You need to go into the Mac's system preferences (the sound options) and make sure everthing's set to internal audio, both input and output. I had set it to Tascam, and that's just plain wrong. It causes a clash that causes the crash.

Now it's all sweet. Hope this helps someone at some point.
