Genji Siraisi releases Drum Nugs Free (AIFF) drum loops 3/23/09

Free drum loops from Grammy nominated drummer Genji Siraisi released for download 3/23/09

Genji Siraisi (Producer, composer, & musician, most well known as founding member and drummer for Groove Collective) Has just released what is set to be the first in a series of live drum loop packages.
The project called "Drum Nugs" is based around a series of recordings done on different kits in various venues and if that wasn't enough variety the first installment was recorded in four different cities in two countries.
The loops mostly fall into the acoustic breakbeat category but they range stylistically from old school breaks to Jazz, Latin, Rock and beyond. Some of the beats have been processed heavily putting them into a more modern realm and making them suitable for a wide variety of uses.
If your looking for that human drum element, to add some grit to your tracks or just some new old school breaks to play with this may be what you are looking for.
The Free pack consists of 62 AIFF loops a donation is requested but not necessary for download and there is a full version of 631 AIFF loops available for $10.
You can find both downloads along with pictures and full description of the project at www.genjisiraisi.com/nugs

I recently did an interview and live in studio performance on WPS1's DJ Culture hosted by Jeannie Hopper.

Just the music without all the interview here:

"WPS1 DJ Interviews: Genji Siraisi - First broadcast April 2, 2007
Genji Siraisi aka Pushtobreak (NYC) is really more of a musician using DJ tools than a traditional DJ. Best known as writer, producer, founding member and beat master of Grammy-nominated artist Groove Collective, Genji brings on a barrage of beats, sounds and melodies with his latest solo performances. He recently visited the WPS1 studios and talked with Jeannie Hopper about his album Censorsh!t and his approach to live electronic performances. His current work is an adventurous departure, as he explores various electronics, software and controllers in new ways. Some of Genji's solo music has recently appeared in a diverse range of projects, from documentaries on street art and Liberia to commercials for American Express, Target and Pepsi. Censorsh!t will be released on Expansion Team Records on May 22, 2007. He has also released an experimental ambient cd with pianist Barney McAll on Kufala Records. In this segment, Genji performs a short set live in the studio using all original elements crafted into an aural landscape of dynamic turns, raw energy, and soulful grooves. (45 minutes)"

Anybody have any suggestions on ways to:

A) have one midi controller control more than one parameter in LIVE!?

B) have a midi control button execute multiple keystroke commands?

C) have a midi knob scroll through LIVE! clips in a session and possibly select that clip for launch by another button?

I heard someone talk about Bome as a way to do 'B' but it's a windows only app.
Can Automator be used for anything like this? It's a bit of a mystery to me and haven't usde it for anything, but it seems like the right tool. It doesn't seem to recognize LIVE though. Am I missing something?

Anyone else ever get this message? It seems to be getting worse or maybe it's just bugging me more. I've only got a Logic7 dongle, a Motu fastlane midi interface and the qwerty/mouse plugged in. I thought it was the UC33 controller, but I'm still getting the message without it plugged in. I'm getting more ram soon could that be it?

I tried a USB hub to try recofiguring things. I was actually hoping to use another USB device. The hub didn't work at all. I did tons of research and found there have been some problems with hubs and macs. My problem was unpredictable behavior from the device(s) plugged into the hub. Now I just want to get to the bottom of the original problem, but if anyone has any advice about USB hubs I'd appreciate it.
The "USB overcurrent" message usually comes up after the computers been on for a bit, but usually not when I'm even using anything other than the qwerty/mouse. If I power down it usually solves the problem for a while.
