Emagic Emi 2|6

My friend kindly gave me her Emagic EMI 2|6 on extended loan, but she doesn't have the manual or any drivers.

Can someone help me out? Are they available online somewhere? If not, can I get them somewhere else?

Basic Hardware Question

I'm thinking about buying either an ibook G4 or a Powerbook G4, and I want to record my band.
What hardware do I need to buy to do this? I've seen stereo RCA to USB devices, but is there anything that will let me multitrack straight onto the computer?

i.e. if i have 8 mics, is there any way i can record them as 8 separate audio tracks onto either an ibook or powerbook?
