Hi,
I have an iBook G4, 1.2GHz, 768RAM, and an Edirol FA-101.

Just wondering your opinions on the better software. Any other 'cheap' suggestions welcome.

I'll mainly be recording 4 track drums, possibly aditional bass & guitar, ease of use is essential, especially where effects are concerned. I'll be using alot of compressor for the drums, the current garageband compressor seems ok & i've tried working other compressors manually with limited success.

I know there's not a great amount of detail about Garageband 2 yet, but your opinions are appreciated.

Seems to be Logic has more features, but garageband 2 will be 1/3 the price!

Hi,
I'm considering purchasing an ibook G4 1.2 GHz, 768 RAM, and i was wondering the best value way to feed in at least 4 seperate tracks via a usb (or firewire) audio/midi interface to record simultaneously and mix seperatley after recording. The basics are for drums: 2 overheads condensers, a bass drum mic & a snare mic. I'm not sure yet what recording software i'll be running it on, but obviously it will have simultaneous multitrack recording ability.

Any help would be much appreciated.
