Hi,

I play acoustic guitar in a duo with another, so we have 2 electric acoustic guitars (with preamps), and two Shure SM58's. Currently we are playing small venues using a Squire Powermixer which has 4 line in's and very small amount of EQ. As you can imagine it sounds ok, but far from awesome!!!

I have recently bought a 15inch powerbook, and I am dead keen on recording a demo CD, but also...if possible use a computer software program to mix my songs and then send them back to the mixer for live gigs.

For this I gather I will need to get....
A soundcard with a 4x4 capabilities (eventually once I learn the software capabilities!!!)

That is down the track, because I have a gig coming up and I want to start with the mixer as my first proper purchase, what should I get. I don't want to spend much more than £250. I am hoping that i can use the mixer for EQ purposes for the next gig and then plug that into the input of the powered mixer.

In a nutshell what mixer is goign to suit me.....for live and recording use!!! I have seen the Soundlab G742 poweramp which looks like it will do everything I want, but if anyone has any advice please help!!!

HI,

I have just bought a PB 512mb etc...Ideally I would like to plug my guitar, vocals, 2nd guitar and hopefully 4th vocals in for live performance. Can I use the firewire 410 for this. I assume so but my real question is then if I am using program...say logic or protools can I then loop what I am playing through the computer, back to amp and then to the speakers. I am kind of confused as to what the out in the audio interfaces do....do they take the sound coming in, allow it to go through the computer program and then back along that channel to the out? Sorry if this seems to be a stupid question

I currently have a powered mixer which lets me record into garageband (which i know is great for simple things but not multichannel simultaneous editing and recording) obviously 1 channel at a time but its hopeless for intergrating my powerbook for a live gig.
