Hi there anyone!

I looked carefully out in all messages posted here and I didn’t found an answer on question I have.
I plan to purchase Protools HD1 and Logic Pro 7 to build a small studio DAW. I would like to record and edit in Protools the all vocals and acoustic instruments and use internal plug-ins (TDM, RTAS) on tracks. I would like to do the final mix in Protools too. At the same time I plan to make in Logic Pro 7 all internal MIDI-instruments part of every project, using native Logic soft-instruments, effects etc.
The question is: is it really possible to drive on Protools HD and Logic Pro 7 SIMULTANEOUSLY in one G5? Protools (TDM) and Logic (Audio Units)?
I think it’s impossible on one audio-hardware only. I think for Logic one more audio-card is needed, obviously. The digital output of this additional card has to be connected to Protools’s card input specially to make the final mix inside Protools.
Which the second audio card would be good for Logic without any conflicts with Protools HD hardware?
Has anyone an experience about that configuration?
Thank you in advance.

Hello everybody!

I need your help. I have to manage small DAW based on ProTools HD system. Budget: ~EUR40,000.00

I need to understand how is reasonable this compilation or not:

· I need ONE, but high class tube mic with ONE high class mic preamp/compressor/eq for recording pop-style vocals (in general). It would be very good for me to know outstanding industry-standard combination of studio mic/preamp for pop vocal recording (if it is)
· 2 or 8 ch. A/D converter for ProTools HD sound routing specially. Apegee Rosetta 200/800 is good solution (not orginal Digidesign Protools HD converters) I heard. Or anything else?
· Well, Protools HD cards + G5
· STANDALONE final compressor/limiter (like TC Finalizer etc.) for final mix processiong. The sound goes from HD digital OUT to final comp/limiter digital IN. Then it goes to the second G5 audiocard digital IN to Bias Peak (for example) to make final stereo mix bounce.
· I need 2-ch. D/A converter to send the final mix to studio monitoring interface (like Presonus Central Station http://www.presonus.com/centralstation.html ) to hear all the sound which I ugly did.
· Active acoustic monitoring system Genelec 31A or 32A. I like Genelec's hi freq "sharpy" sound.

That's all.
I ask you, gentlemen the professionals, to help and give me an advice to complete this kind of studio!
What the best indastry-standard couple of tube mic/preamp for pop-vocal recording? Converters for Protools HD? Final stand-alone compressor/limiter with aes/ebu in/out?
Neutral sounding studio monitoring interface? Active monitor system?

Thank you very much in advance and excuse me for my ugly english.

Hi everybody!

Give me an advice, will you?
Has anybody heard about any OSX Panther compatible i/o audio card with 1 or maximum 4 digital inputs/outputs ONLY(AES/EBU preferred) on the market now? Without analog in/outs.

Thank you.

Hi everybody!

I’m in the process of choosing the best audio card for my Logic Pro and G5 OSX Panther. My criteria is: no latency, good A/D convertion, compatibility with OSX Panther and Logic Pro.
Has anybody good experience with pro-level cards? Who can give me an advice, what good cards are there on the market now?

Thank you. smile.gif
