Just got Logic Express 7 - using it on an eMac with an Edirol PCR-A30 controller and Harmon Kardon Soundsticks. But I'm not hearing anything when I play something on the controller. I can see that the MIDI signal is going in and it is getting recorded, but there's no sound. Total newbie question, but hey - that's what I am. any tips? thx, peterpen
I'm getting started making some tracks and am looking for a controller. The MicroKontrol looks sweet and seems to have decent reviews - was wondering if anyone on here had experience w/it? Is there a loop or hold function for those 16 pads similiar to what is possible on a MPC? At the moment, I am only using Garageband, but will be getting Reason 2.5 and an MBox w/ProTools LE shortly. I don't really want to get some rinky-dink controller like the Oxygen which seems like I'd outgrow it rather quickly. thanks in advance - other suggestions for sub-$400 controllers would be welcome! -Peter
I have a 700 mhz G4 eMac with 640 mb memory running OSX and am looking to dip my toe into production. I'm considering Reason 2.5 and an Oxygen8 controller or a Korg microKontrol 37. Do you think this would be an OK way to get started? Or should I save up more $ and look into Logic or Cubase as well? I'm looking to start with sample-based broken beat/ nu jazz tracks if that makes any difference. I'd prefer to use samples from my own LPs/ CDs. thanks in advance, Peter
