I was wondering where one could find cheaper memory and disc space upgrades for macs? Upgrading to two gigs of memory just doesn't seem proper at 750$. Because with a PC it only costs like 400 dollars.

For hard drives will any serial ata work? If so I'm going to buy one from a whole saler for cheap.

I'm only asking these questions because I'm about to buy my first mac. I'd really like to know what options I have for the upgrades. I figure my current Dell 19" LCD will work for a monitor, and I'm sure if I need a graphics card upgrade I can use any agp card.

Please help a mac newb out smile.gif

Well I'm pretty new to the various DAWs out there. I realize that Pro Tools is pretty standard in many studio settings. My issues. Getting anything from Digi is expensive (unless it's the Mbox), but the Mbox only does 48khz sampling rate, while my sound card does 96khz.

Does Pro Tools interoperate with other sound sources in a computer? Say like a M-audio delta 1010? I'm mostly wondering because my current rig is set up with one.
