I've searched but haven't found any threads on using a new iMac as a DAW. Is there anyone out there doing this? I am leaning towards buying the 20-inch model. My needs are very modest. Just single tracking on my own.
Endorsements? Warnings? Thanks.
Sorry if I've missed a thread here somewhere, but I wanted to specifically address the Logic Audio (Big Box) users about LE7.
From what I've gleaned from other forums, it would seem that there is no upgrade path for Logic Audio 6 users to Logic Express 7. One poster claimed that there is an upgrade for about $99. Others claim that you have to pay full price.
There is no way in hell I will pay full price ($299). The only reason I would fork out the $99 is to stay in the support loop. Apple is pulling the plug on v6 users by the end of this year.
More news greatly appreciated.
Has anyone downloaded the v3.2.2 driver for Tascam's US series interfaces? I was hoping to hear that it fixed the problems that many have gone on record complaining about (audio drop out).
I noticed that Tascam has overhauled their Web site but haven't brought back the forums.
Maybe I'm missing a concept here, but . . .
I am using OSX Core Audio and Core MIDI. I have a Midisport UNO interface to control the instruments in Reason and Logic. When using Logic, the output of my audio channels and audio instrument channels plays through Core Audio into my connected speakers; however, the MIDI channels play back through the speakers in my MIDI keyboard.
I have looked through the Audio/MIDI setup utility and Logic's Setup Assistant, but I do not see a fix.
Advice appreciated.
I am new to Logic and trying to fathom the application’s manuals. I feel that simply watching someone work with a song for an hour would be a bigger help than reading the manuals a couple of times each.
I have researched the various third-party books and videos out there and have come to the following conclusions:
They are either dated or way expensive, and the customer reviews aren’t too kind.
If anyone out there can give a hearty recommendation for a training book, video, what have you, please let me know.
I am running Logic Audio 6 on OSX.
Thanks
