Hello
I'm buying Logic Big Box tomorrow but I've heard that there is no version of EXSP24 available for OS X. Is that true? The info on Emagics site is a bit diffuse. Sounds like there is an version but that it can't import AKAI cd's. Huh?
Can anyone shed some light on this?
Thanks

Thanks for the info!
It's crazy though. Apple buys Emagic and there's no way to import AKAi into EXSP24 "at this time". You would think that they would put out OS X versions of everything asap but oh no..
Can I use something else to create .EXS-files (from my AKAI cd's) that I can play with EXSP24 or should I be prepared for a long wait?

Until Emagic updates the AU version of the EXSP24 you can boot into OS9 and use the VST of the EXSP24 to create EXS files from your Akai and soundfont samples...unless you can't boot into OS9. I've had the Big Box and Player Edition stuff since June and I haven't seen any updates.

I've never tried to use this feature, but from what I've read, Akai import appears to be fixed with the latest versions of Logic (so that would be 6.3.1 for Audio and Gold, 6.3.2 for Platinum) - at least under Jaguar. (I think Panther is broken again, but again, this is just what I've read). I'm just speculating here, but my take is it's not the AU version that needed updated, but the EXS24 Instrument editor, which is built into Logic itself (go to your Audio dropdown menu). So make sure you have Logic 6.3.1 and give that a go. If it still doesn't work, try building a fresh autoload. Just a suggestion...
