I understand dropping the G3, and I know that the Digi 001 is now being referred to as "legacy" by Digidesign...but what the hell is up with the lack of support on the PowerMac G4?? I'm willing to upgrade my 001 to a 002, but I'm not doing that AND buying a G5. Not for a long while, at least.

I think your best advice is to stay with Jaguar. Which is really ironic -- Apple has been running ads touting (of all things!) Pro Tools and G5 on Panther! (Slogan: Everything's in Place. Okay, everyone, stop laughing.)

I agree, this is frustrating, and I think Digidesign's page on this could be much clearer. You should be able to click on your hardware and software and have it tell you what the upgrade will be and what your upgrade path is, according to them.

I don't think it's overstating the situation when others say customers will look at native platforms. You don't have these kind of issues if you're running, say, a MOTU 828 and Logic.
