What would be a good monitoring speaker for use in moitoring audio output from my computer (Mac Twin 1.25mhz G4)? I am a video editor that is looking to get better (more accurate) sound reproduction. Most likely I would be interested in nearfield speakers. Do you have to have a special card installed to hook up the speakers to the computer, or just run them through the sound jack in the computer?
Thanks! |

QUOTE (sconover @ Jul 19 2003, 11:46) I am a video editor that is looking to get better (more accurate) sound reproduction. Most likely I would be interested in nearfield speakers. How good do you want the audio to be, that is, how much are you willing to spend (usually a strong correlation)? How do you transfer the video sound to your HD? Personally, I would go for a PCI-interface to start with. I know that there are powered nearfields, but how to connect them I do not know. I guess you could plug into them from your soundcard with the wright connections, but that's only a guess. I hook up my card to an old Hi-Fi amp. and use a pair of Soundcraft, Spirit Absolute 2 nearfields that I find good for the price. But anyhow, it is difficult to have any ideas if I do not know how much you are willing to spend. |
