arrived!
I am pleased to inform you that after long time of consideration and evaluation I bit the bullet and bought a Power Mac G4, 867. I know it's not the fastest model, but I'm sure that I will get the most out of this thing of beauty. Well, ok I shouldn't get so carried away, it's just plastic and metal, but for some reason I always develop this inexplicable relationship with inanimate things. They become alive!!!! And I definitely see that my Mac will be no exception. It's going to help me record and produce at least 20 songs that have been waiting for something like that. Once they're done, I'll upload them to my site [hé hé ! ] Anyway, I just wanted to share it with you. Lepetitmartien - if you read this, remember you told me "one of us, one of us!!!" when I was contemplating whether or not to get a Mac. Well, now I am ....one of you. As for the inanimate objects, I know what you mean, all my synths have people names and my macs are really just extensions. Now Apple didn't help us out. They spend quite alto of time and money on development, Apple has clocked the pulse rate of the power button of all their computers to be at the same intervals a relaxed human would breath at. check it out. put your beautiful beast to sleep for a few seconds.

jinx, whether you're "one of us"? Oh yeah!
I've had the beast (Power mac G4, dual 867) for about 1.5 months now and I LOVE it. What Apple did, they made the light on the power button pulsate as if the thing was alive, so we develop this irrational emotional attachement to the thing - bastards, they play us well, but hey, it works;) |
