Edirol M-16dx, Firmware upgrade troubleshoot Options

Hello,
I am unable to upgrade my Edirol M-16DX to FIRMWARE 2.0. I wrote to the Edirol support and looked all over the web to see if anyone had a hard time updating the firmware as well... No help, no answer... I'm on OS 10.5.5

let's work out the basics:

- Is it connected directly to the computer or not ? If there's a hub in between, get rid of it.
- Have you (un)clean mains?
- Have you tried from another USB port?
- Have you swap the cable?
- Have you shut down the computer, wait, and tried again?
- Have you tried with another computer?

if none of these is at fault, then it's either the Edirol that is a naughty boy or it's software related.
