ive run into some trouble upgrading to 10.2.3 on my g4. first, there is two versions of the installer for download on apple's website. the 10.2.3 installer and the 10.2.3 combo installer. what is the difference between these two?
i downloaded the 10.2.3 installer and when i ran it, it told me that i did not have enough space on my hard drive to install. this is impossible because i have over 15gb of space on my hard drive and the installer only requires 932mb. can anyone help me out here?

i think my problem was because i was trying to use the incremental upgrade but i am only running 10.2. i did not know it was to upgrade 10.2.2 only... that explains everything. i guess i should use the combo upgrade. thanks for your help.

I think I read somewhere on macfixit that a few people have had problems with the incremental upgrade . 2.3 is a big update and the bulletproof way for system install is to do an archive install of 2.0 and then run the combo update . least that one less thing to worry about if you have to trouble shoot later on . if you do an archive install you will have to reinstall any drivers .

Saying that, I do remember a problem with a Combo upgrade to 10.1.5, which caused audio dropouts and glitches. It means that any song I recorded with Reason at that time will never play right - it stutters horribly. I've had to rewrite the songs now I've got my system to 10.2.3.
For that reason (no pun intended), I steer clear of Combo updates and always do it step by step. It takes longer, but I've not had any problems since. Just my experience.
