Hi,

Thanks in advance for any help!

I recently bought an Mbox to connect to my TiBook 667/30G/512RAM with Pro Tools 6 & OS X.
I had been using a Tascam Portastudio 424 mkII cassette multitrack.

1) Is there a way to connect my 424 (via the Mbox?) to use it as an external mixer with Pro Tolls 6? If so, is there even any benefit to doing that?

2) I also have a BBE264R sonic maximizer, a Korg DDD-1 drum amchine, and a Yamaha REV100 digital reverberator effects unit. Can I make effective of use of these units in the digital realm? If so, how would I connect them...?
I'm recording acoustic/elec. guitar, vocals, harmonica, some basic keyboard.

Thanks!

hiya.

from zzxsounds.com (digidesign doesn't like my browser) :
Hands-On Mixing: Motor Mix
There's nothing quite like getting your hands on a dedicated mixing surface. Motor Mix from CM Labs greatly increases the speed and enhances the feel of working in Pro Tools LE. Motor Mix is a scalable, low-cost control surface with motorized faders and controls for nearly every operation available in Pro Tools LE.

So, yes you can use an external mixer,as it has the proper cabling

2. I'll leave this one who knows

1) Sure, you can do it. Just connect the MBox outs to 424.
But the only thing I think it'll be a benefit to you is: using the 424 at a mixdown to make cassette tape.
IMHO: You should work in digital realm. Mix everything in your TI.

You have to do a lot of bouncing if you have many tracks.
Try figure out in advance which track goes where.
But if you have only 8 tracks, then you're home free.

2) You can use all of them. But these old equipments are very noisy.
