Hi all:

I recently purchased Waves Renaissance Compressor at the unbelievably low price of $39. I'm sure you all know about the Waves discounts..

In order to install it, you need to install the entire Waves Version 8 plugin installer, and then you can authorize only the plugs you have purchased.

Now, EVERYTIME I open GarageBand, it does a scan of my Audio Unit plugins, and tells me that an error has occurred with an installed AU plugin (WavesIR-L. not one I've purchased or "enabled") If I press "OK", it then takes me to the authorization screen of each Waves plug. No matter what I do, I can't get this action to stop.

I only use GarageBand as a quick sketch pad for ideas. I use DP7 for anything more serious, so my question is:

Is there a way to disable AU plugs in GarageBand? I couldn't find it in any menu. Honestly, I never use them anyway, only in DP7.

Sorry for the long winded-ness....

hard drive>library>audio>plug-ins>components.

good luck.

The" Wave Shell" component is the only plug in that folder. I'm assuming removing that would remove all my Waves plugs

drat. once again i'm proved an idiot. you're right, of course, leave the wave shell component where it is.
looking at my own computer, i see my waves plugs reside in Applications>Waves>Waves Plug-ins.

there they are.
