I want to start recording various random sounds to use as Reason samples. I have already recorded some stuff in protools and bounced to disk (.wav), now im just wondering how i can make that file into something i can use in Reason. Also, if there are ways to make your own loops for Dr. Rex, I would be a very very happy man. Can anyone help me?

P.S.- I use a Mac G5, with Reason 3 and Protools 6.9.2. And apparently i don't have ReWire (is that what is stopping me?)

Yes the best way to make loops for Dr. Rex is to use Recycle 2.1 (Propellerhead is working on an upgrade now) Its been around a long time and it still is a great thing to have.
All the best to you

I haven't really tried it (man, the world is SO full of free refills for the NNXT sampler) but, with a simple program like audacity, you should be able to make recorded sounds into loops, save them as wav/aiff files, and, as I understand it, browse to them with the folder button on the NNXT and open them up.....

As far as converting to REX files you can convert any wav/aiff file to them very easily with RECYCLE 2.1 made by Propellerhead.

Pro Tools 6.9.2 definitely supports Rewire.....have you tried it? It is pretty simple with Ableton (I have ProTools but never use it) but, I am guessing that you need to open Pro Tools first and then open Reason (maybe a song you have already written in Reason for simpliciy to start). Start an Audio track and select the sound source from the dropdown menu (Reason channels one and two, and on up from there) as Reason channels one and two. Arm the track to record (press the record button on the track) and when you hit the space bar/transport you should get an incoming signal from Reason. As you get trickier with it you can take all of your Reason instruments and individually wire each one to the hardware interface. You can also control each instrument via midi from protools using the same idea, but for brevity's sake, I'll stop here. If any PT users out there noticed I have missed a step or something, please let us know.
