i wonder how quality is my ibook output vs pro sound cars... i saw quite some uses directly... and is ibook audio card same as on powerbook/titanium.

even though output is claimed to be 16bit... I don't care much for the sound quality that comes from the headphone jack for routing to amplifiers or PA system if that is why you ask. Headphone jack is good for headphones but the output I get from it to a PA seems a bit hollow and doesn't have the bass response I get from a dedicated audio card or interface. Plus, if you move the cord much at all... its extremely easy to get pop and crackles and that stinks especially when its amplified by over 400 watts.

I used my Tibook once to DJ an outdoor party and it did work ok using the headphone jack but I know it could have sounded better. sad.gif
