Have been using the MIDI part of DP 5.0 on a G4 eMac running OS 10.3.9. Works perfectly. Upgraded to new iMac running OS 10.4.10 in order to start using the audio recording features. DP 5.0 doesn't work on the new Intel iMac. Downloaded DP 5.11 from MOTU web site. Needed 5.11 before I could use 5.12. Also downloaded 5.12 from MOTU web site. I get a (-5000) error message "access denied" when I try to launch 5.12. Called MOTU tech support and was told to repair permissions. I did. No change. Called MOTU tech support and was talked through removing authorization of DP 5.0 and was told to use 5.11. DP 5.11 launches BUT there are no manufacturer patch lists in the audio/MIDI setup resulting in "no patches" when trying to pull up patches in patches column in the tracks window. The first reply I got from MOTU's online tech support to the "no patches" issue was,
"If the keyboard wasnt listed there then that means the patch names won't be in the patch list because your computer doesn't know what it actually is. You would need to find the proper midnam file for your keyboard in order to use it. You can use a program called cherry picker to do this, or you can usually ask around forums and someone may be nice enough to give you the file." I thought the patch lists were provided by MOTU and Apple Core MIDI. MOTU's on-line tech support also told me to reinstall 5.0. I did. No change.

The audio setup says "output not supported". MOTU tech support hasn't helped me solve anything.

Has anyone else had these problems?

Issue resolved. Had to repair every permission that had anything to do with DP. Took awhile to find all the folders. Had help from a DP use on UnicorNation. DP5.12 has launched on my Intel iMac, OS10.4.10.
