Hi,
I would like to build a sound system hidden in a box which would start playing a single audio file in loop as soon as it is plugged in. I imagine a super simple audio player that, like most of the dvd-players (they are to big for my box. Also, dvds can be written to be played in loop), start to read the audio file as soon as it is plugged in. The output should go on small active speakers. The space for the player is 14 cm large, 30 cm long and 15 cm high, and i will make 8 of theose boxes. I am now in Berlin, the whole thing will be built next week in switzerland.
thanx for any advice and help

(for each box) Any cheap mp3 player will work. It just needs to be able to repeat the same song over & over (such as every mp3 player I've ever seen can do). Your speakers are powered by being plugged in, correct? No sound when they aren't? Then all they need is an audio source and you're in business. It doesn't matter if the mp3 player never gets turned off, you only need a battery pack that can power the player until finished or have battery access so you can swap in fresh ones. If I may ask, why are you building these boxes? Bauhaus whoopie cusions?

Hi, thanks for the answer. the thing is that those boxes won't have access (for battery pack or play button), so this is why i need the plug in impulse as being the play. The boxes are cardboard models who will be displayed in a museum (they look like different typologies of tunnel entrances), so they have to be started in the morning and shut down in the evening. the player can be powered along with the active speakers, but it is all a question of access from outside to give the play/stop impulse, and remote control need direct contact (it doesn't go trough cardboard i guess). Any Idea? Thanks a lot!
