Hello, I burned some track with Toast, Toast Jam and iTunes, but when I inserted to CD on other computer (PC) it did not show the track names nor the CD name.
I was wondering how it can be done and if...
Thank you Shlomit

Thank you Shlomit The only way I know (this is the way iTunes does it) is that the CD needs be in the CD database at www.gracenote.com and the computer needs to have a program like iTunes that finds the CD in the database and applies the track names. http://forums.macrumors.com/archive/index.php/t-149233.html this is older information but it may help you. Since the audio CD (redbook) itself does not contain any of this information, it needs to be retrieved from the internet. good luck!

Thank you Shlomit In Jam you can enable the CD-text option and write down the record name, artists and track names. Only CD-players with the CD-text capability can read them. PCs and Macs show CD-text if the player supports it. Best regards Matti Kontio

Hey Redsunset,
A couple things to look at for this question.
For Toast Titanium v7, you need to ensure that the option "CD-TEXT" is checked in the side pane. Next to the "Audio CD: My CD" at the top line of your sound files window is a disclosure triangle. If you don't see the side pane which has the two tab options of "Formats' with radio buttons for Audio CD, Music DVD, MP3 Disc and Enhanced Audio CD and 'Media' with a list of media files to use, clicking the disclosure triangle will reveal this pane. The CD-TEXT checkbox is on the Formats tab in the Options section.
This will allow any player that utilizes CD text to display that data. For most computer based audio players, however, the gracenote CD-DB (or other track information database on the internet) is what is searched to provide the track and album information. This is based upon the combined CD and track lengths (among other data sources for commercial discs) to display the information in the player. So, your mileage may vary.
If you are burning 'mix-tape' CDs, the data may or may not appear on the PC you are playing the disc on depending on which data source it is trying to access to provide the track data. Again, if it is the CD-TEXT, then you will see the info. If it is a CDDB source on the internet you may not.
Good luck!
peace, deacon

I utilize Waveburner to produce production master CDs. There is a field in Waveburner (and I believe in JAM as well) to enter ISRC codes for each track which sort of act as a "barcode" for each song. These codes are the ones that are registered at the Gracenote database (as well as others) and when a commercial disc gets put into your computer, these database accesses these codes and BINGO, you get the album info with track names, atrist, etc. The CD TEXT option only applies to cd players with text displays.
