Ok, Ok . . . I was just digging around my ol' iTunes files and came across a song from Annie Lennox that I had not heard in years and years and years called "Little Bird". Anyone heard this ?? So, in this "lil" song, as I'm kinda "My-My'n" along, this unbelievable and wonderful bass cuts in. It is full and round and punchy and really luscious and deep.
My question: How in the world through Compression, EQ, limiting, panning, etc, etc, etc does one produce such a miraculous sound ??
What Hz, kHz, Q does one adjust ? I have been trying to produce these sounds now on my own for like a year . . .and have just about given up.

Your professional mastering assistance would be greatly appreciated !!
sincerely,
donald

I am no pro (quite far from it). Google the name Bob Katz. He is an east coast mastering engineer who I understand just wrote (6mos to a year ago) an incredilble handbook for mastering audio and how to use the equipment properly as well as how to properly set up your monitoring environment to properly master audio. He also contributes regularly to Tape Op magazine which is free and you should get a subscription to. www.tapeop.com
