I've got a load of piano samples that I would like to play using my keyboard plugged into a MIDI interface into my Mac. The idea is that the samples would be mapped to each key and my Mac would then produce the fine Steinway sound for me.
Can I do this using Logic Express 7? So far it seems that I need an 'EXS instrument editor' to do this, but it's not available in LE7. Is this right? Are there any other methods? |

Logic Express7 removed the EXS editor that was included in Logic Express 6.
Chicken Systems has a new app called Constructor. http://www.chickensys.com/ for building sampler instruments. Redmatica has announced but not delivered Keymap a standalone EXS editor. http://www.redmatica.com Also there is VSamp $39 that allows you to kemap samples, it's not pretty but is cpu effecient. I've been using it since OS9. Also comes with a nice downloadable sample collection. http://www.vsamp.com Also do a search on this site for soundfont editor, once in soundfont form you can convert it to EXS within the EXSP24. ![]() -------------------- G-Dub
