I've been sitting here all day trying to get my new gear and software to work . . . HELP please?!? huh.gif
I'm converting from an OS9 Mac running Performer 6 to a new mac running Digital Performer.

1. MOTU 8 pre, cannot hear any sound via the analog inputs. Even when I have instrument going direct into the unit , bypassing MIDI, no sound from either main out or headphone jack. LEDs do light up showing that the sound IS being received by the unit, but no audio. Both main outs and headphone jack are set at full volume. Sound DOES enter the unit and can be heard from phone and main out when generated by the computer & sent via firewire.

2. MIDI interface MOTU Micro Lite. 3 synth sound sources, Audio/Midi set up configured in & out. No data being sent via MIDI to synths, either from previously recorded sequences or from the controller. 'Check connections' in Setup window creates sound on the correct synths, but also creates a 'loop' of sorts, like a high pitched constant playing of whatever sound the synth is set to. MIDI data can be recorded into Digital Performer via the MIDI controller, but cannot be heard or played back properly. One channel on one synth seems to be responding to some MIDI data, but it's erratic and has no relation to what was recorded.

Synths and available MIDI channels DO appear correctly in the OUTPUT window in Digital Performer

I know this is a lot of info, sorry! If anyone can help me troubleshoot this I'd be grateful . . . N

I'm replying to my own post . . . everything is fine now... MOTU told me before purchasing the MIDI interface that it would work when attached to the computer via a USB hub... WRONG . . . .

And the 8pre manual doesn't seem to say that the only way it will work is when set up using their CueMix software . . .

Anyway, all is fine . . . for now. :-)

Hello
Well, some hubs works, some not… bad luck.

Another usual MOTU issue are old drivers, it's a good habit to always check them too (just for the knowledge base)
