hi there i have 4 GB of Ram ... running osx 10.4.8 chud tools hey ... my macpro is in the shop i am getting the new apogee symphony card + rosetta system and the tech guys having a look into the problem to. when i get it back i will install this chud tools but is there a version compatible with my new macpro (intel version) uni bin compatible ?? could you send me the direct links and when i get my computer back i will install them. cheers with the internal power management turning it off will it over heat ??? or risk of damage to the cpu's? QUOTE (lepetitmartien @ Mon 20 Nov 2006, 09:01) How much RAM have you installed?
For the CPU thing, you have to install the CHUD tools available thru Apple for the latest version (in the developer section) or install it from the Xcode part of the OS install DVD. CHUD provide you a Processor Prefpanel where you have a "disable nap" option, that's it. Note it'll disable internal power management in the CPU so it'll eat power all the time.
Now, another thing to look at it in the energy saving prefpanel, set the CPU performance to max, you should start by this and eventually the RAM if you don't have much installed.

QUOTE (Mac-Dee @ Mon 20 Nov 2006, 01:27) Hi all i have a new macpro 2.66 .
I am having audio problems the signal is never consistant it is always cutting in and out and is not working i think it has something to do with the processor
i was told by a audio dude that it could be cycle proccessor anyone got a similar problem ???/ or anyone know how to disable the cycle proccessor ?? or fix this problem ??? Are you using a USB audio interface? There have been reports of audio dropouts with MacBook & MacBook Pro laptops and USB interfaces. Not sure if this affects desktop machines also? Check out these Apple Discussion Forum posts for any similarities to the problems you are experiencing. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?t...8&tstart=30

QUOTE (lepetitmartien @ Thu 7 Dec 2006, 18:25) CHUD is hereas ru2b12 said, it can be something else, we're exploring still the viciousness of intel macs still hey so I am wondering how to get to the Processor Prefpanel where you have a "disable nap" option, that's it. Note it'll disable internal power management in the CPU so it'll eat power all the time. I installed CHUD and can not figure out how to disbale nap could you enlighten me perhaps thanx -- Ian
