I dont know anything about this interface besides that it looks really cool, but PLEASE do not cross-post on the forums, its somewhat rude. One post will do fine.

Hmm - are there drivers to install? Have you done that? Have you checked the AudioMIDI setup utility in /Applications/Utilities to see what it says?

ciao,

it might be to do with the issues apparent in 10.4.8 regarding external firewire devices....

I have a macbook pro, loving it....

but I'm careful NOT to upgrade too quickly.....unless I've done the research......

so my system for my DTP is 10.4.8

and my music partition is 10.4.7...until this bug is fixed.....

may or may not be your problem......

trick is to not get too far ahead of yourself....

if you do .... you volunteer yourself as an consumer beta tester.....i.e. your work don't get paid for....but you still are discovering problems for apple / rme...etc...

I have a fireface 400 .... incredible bit of gear..... works fine in 10.4.7

my mate just bought a project mix....m Audio... it's working terribly because he's in 10.4.8 so he had to downgrade...(A real pain)

Hope this helps...

Kristian

Hi Kristian

Do you know anything more about that 10.4.8 firewire issues? do you have a link to any more info?

I had not heard that, but just did downgrade to 10.4.7 because my presonus firebox was dropping out all the time in logic 6.4 when in 10.4.8 - I guess I am not alone!

Thankfully I had made an apple software restore compatible disk image clone of my boot partition just before updating, so after a boot into my backup 10.3 system, a few terminal commands and a 20 min wait, i was back in 10.4.7.

Man, apple has been being sloppy lately - for example in iTunes 7 they broke some applescripting commands that break scripts I often use and have not fixed them, despite the release of 7.0.1...

best,
Vid
