Synthetic,

I totally agree with you as far as Audio. Now I realize why we weren't seeing any OSX apps. Core Audio and some Midi functionality wasn't ready. Nor was the I/O Kit for hardware. If I was a Developer I wouldn't want to ship a product using immature API's.

I think that Apple announce Logic OSX soon and hopefully we'll see a steady stream of updates.

Who made that promise though? I was promised that I´d have OSX midi drivers by mid-July by emagic customer service and have been exclusively using OSX since - I wouldn´t have done that had I known I´d sit here without midi drivers for a months - I bought the Akai MPD16 for a reason afterall - mmh. actually I bought it for Live. wink.gif

Ok...I know we can get Deck, Reason 2.0, and Live for OS X...but what else? No cubase, no logic (mindboggling, since Apple aquired them and wants to get rid of 9)...Pro Tools? Nope. I can't even seem to find decent plug-ins to use in OS X. I am buying an Apple, but it seems it will take awhile for me not to own a PC. I may always have to have a PC in my set-up unless shit changes.

I love all the freeware plugins we have in OSX. The "big" names will follow in a bit, but I can understand that most of the commercial plugin creators want to wait for the host apps to be in OSX before comitting to a potential financial risk.

let's face it, osx is a can of worms that apple have opened.
forget the promises, let's just have something that works when it gets here, and in the meantime, is anybody suggesting that making music in os9 is some kind of a problem? wink.gif
i've said this before in these forums, os9 is as good as that technology gets! let's not be in a hurry to dump it and re-start with something that's just going to present a bunch of problems that we have to live with as the developers work out the answers.
blink.gif
we've already done that a couple of times...
osx is great but i don't NEED it to make music. wink.gif
i use logic and quite frankly, i'm a bit scared about the way it's all going, i do have faith, but a new os isn't imperitive to my being able to make music on a mac.
peace 2 all. cool.gif
