Up until now I have only ever used software samples and virtual instruments with my Logic 7 set up. Now I am trying to use an Access Virus C and I think my answer lies in the environment but I am having trouble understanding the manual on this subject. So far, I have the controller keyboard attached to the MT4 midi interface and the midi output of the MT4 to the midi In of the Virus. The first pair of audio outputs of the virus are going into my Mbox line inputs. I am using GM track 1 on midi channel 1 and can hear the Virus and can even record midi data which then plays back fine. I can't understand where the audio is coming back to Logic because I don't see it on any channel strip. To record Midi the record tab is on the midi channel so I presumably couldn't then arm audio tracks to record the input. I will want to record a number of sounds from the Virus. I don't really get the single instrument / multi instrument concept and how one Virus unit with one stereo audio output connected to Logic could play back more than one sound. Since I am limited to one stereo input with my Mbox (even though I see the Virus has three outputs) I guess people do each track and record it as audio and then move onto the next sound. I am hoping someone that reads this knows what I am trying to do and can explain it in very simple terms.

Depends on how you monitor your audio, it's possible that logic is triggering midi, and the audio is going into your interface and directly to your monitors.
On the track mixer engage the global button, start the song, check to see if there is any meter movement. I never use the GM tracks and have eleminated them from my default song. So you may want to try a normal midi track, then route your audio to an empty audio track. if you have Logic Pro you can use the external instrument plug then you can treat you external hardware like an instrument track. -------------------- G-Dub
