Hi dunno if this will help but I was at sounds-expo in London last week and found a piece of kit that blew me away. Check out Edirol's site and take a look at the MD-P1-S motion dive.Tokyo performance package. You would need a screen and laptop but no projector and the images and control you get are fantastic. There's a digital video output on your laptop - it looks almost like a USB port. Apple sells a $20 adapter that converts this to a VGA plug - the type that desktop monitors use. Most projectors accept a VGA input (that's what they were originally designed for), so you can plug the iBook into the projector and display whatever it's doing on a screen. I use it all the time - it works like a charm.
