Well I'm not a Cubase user BUT this type of error is more likely related to the host computer, so... Error type 3 stands for "illegal request" (I'm sure you're glad to know this...). I've searched the Cubase Answerbase for you ( http://service.steinberg.net/knowledge.nsf...Search?OpenForm ) without success. I've also performed a search on the DUC (Digi's forum which is wayyy more informed) and found that such errors on opening can be caused by:
-having plugs in the plugs folder that are not compatible with your soft,
-having plugs that are not compatible with your CPU model (some plugs will, for ex., be only compatible with G4, not with G3),
-bad RAM installed in the computer (but in that case you should have issues running any app.),
-corrupted OS (->reinstall from original disk),
-SCSI bus not terminated properly.

In the meantime:
-Have you tried opening other sessions?... Does it work?
-If yes,you might have a "corrupted" session. Isn't there a way in Cubase to import tracks from the "corrupted" session in a new session (track by track)?->this procedure has saved many PT users stuck with a "corrupted" session (yes there are such, it just happens...).
-Are you trying to open your session by clicking the session's icon itself or by first clicking on the app.'s icon (Cubase) and then choosing "Open". This last way of opening a session can sometimes work when the first one doesn't...
Good luck and keep us posted.

Mr T is right, try to open it some other way.

Also in case the disk or the system has a problem

- try to copy the whole thing on an other disk then try again
- rebuild the desktop
- trash the preferences of Cubase (I don't know if you'll have a lot to retune after so… I'm not a Cubase user) Some softs do behave strangely with corrupted preferences files
- use a streamlined Cubase fresh installed…
- run SOS disk and Nortons or techtools
- optimize the files or the disk…

but beware this can be the sign of a possible big problem (or just nothing at all) so a back up first then utilities is a good choice (as it should be, but here, I'd really do it first)

`hope the best for your smash hit smile.gif
