I'd try opening the files with audacity. It's freeware. Try this link http://audacity.sourceforge.net/It's good at opening almost anything, look under the "project" pulldown window find "import raw data". try looking at one of those files. BE CAREFUL...keep your monitors low. You may get some seriously gnarly stuff shooting at you (try opening a text file and listening to it), but you'll be able to tell what you've got for audio. From there you can see if the end of the files are corrupted/where everything went funny. From there you should be able to trim the dead weight off, and then export the files to a new format that you can reimport into Pro Tools. It will be challenging to line up , but not impossible. USe your ears and you'll be fine best, tm

I don't have suggestions on saving the files, but I have learned NEVER to re-name the folder or project once you record it. PT has a hard time finding the files again... Create a folder before beginning a project, and stick with that name. Johnny

I recently rescued some PT audio with soundhack - load in a sound and see what it says - I had to fix the headers. problems with a crash while you are recording though might not be so easy soundhack is free. Try any other sound app you can
