I have used a Sennheiser MKH60 with a blimp windscreen and found it the best solution for outdoor sound fx recording... Very popular with Film Location Mixers...

yeah I guess it's a good advice ...It could be done, maybe for my north forest trip. But I'll purchase one sometimes this year... Does anyone makes field sampling? what mics are you using?

I've been recording in the field, sometimes in very bad weather conditions for several years now, with a DA-P1 and a couple of AKG Blue Line's in a MS configuration in a rycote system, they work really nice (not so good as the Sennheiser, but they're much less expensive), you could try the C 480 B comb-ULS/61 with a shotgun capsule CK 69-ULS, wich is more expensive, but not as much as the Sennheiser(that can handle anything).
