Just about every music/audio program will not work in "classic" mode.

Music/audio Programs have to be written for OS X (like Logic Platinum, Spark, Deck, Peak) or you have to boot your system in OS 9.

So don't bother wasting your time trying to get music/audio app's working in classic mode.

formatj is right... "classic" mode is almost (does work with a few apps) useless and this is even scarier when you consider all macs made after 2003 will not boot in OS9... they will boot in OSX leaving only "classic" mode for OS9 apps to run sad.gif

I boot to OS9 for all my music and multimedia work.

IF you want to run Pro Tools relatively reliably then do not launch Mac OSX and try t olaunch pro tools in the Classic emulatio mode.

Just boot directly into OS 9 and you should be fine.

It is going to be a while before everything in the Music world is OSX Native (There is a ton of stuffthat needs converting and as long as the OS updates are frequent it is going to be awhile before allthe Music guys get on the OS X Bandwagon. Don't forget that even with its multitasking capabilities that OSX is still slower than 9.2.2).

On my system I keep a Boot drive that is pure OS 9 no X at all and have another Boot drive for X that also has 9 on it. I use that part for the Apps that will run under X and keep the Audio Music stuff completely separate on the 9 Boot drive. I seem to have very few problems with this aprooach at least so far. unsure.gif
