I have an ibook os X and need the firewire interface for a hard drive. It's only me recording one thing at a time so don't need a lot of inputs going at once.
Can any recommend a single interface box that includes the following: xlr with phantom power instrument input for guitar and keyboards midi input If you can recommend something that you use that has all these features and works well. . .thanks! |

Lexicon Omega has these features plus the famous Lexicon reverb package. It's working well for me so far.

I bought the M-Audio Mobile Pre...
Nice box...sometimes a bit of conflict between Core-audio and the driver. Especially when I switch between apps. But def. woth its money. My box came with adapted versions of Ableton Live 4 and Reason 2.5. FireWire interfaces like Focusrite's Saffire, PreSonus' FireBox and MOTU's 828 have two firewire sockets, so you can chain your hard drive from one of these interfaces. That's precisely why such a feature exists on these products. More expensive than USB alternatives, mind, but also much more suitable for tracking audio.
