Hello, i'm running a power mac G4 with cubase vst 5.0. I have just installed version 5.1 but when i try and open it the text "The file cubase resources could not be found, this is needed to run cubase" appears and cubase won't open. I have tried re-installing version 5 then 5.1 again and everything seems to be installed ok.The cubase resources file is where it should be in the cubase folder but can not be opened? Any help or advice would be well recieved. Cheers Olivaffair. wink.gif

Cubase's anti-pirate scheme requires the 5.0 cd to be in the drive tray, when updating.

Otherwise the install will fail.

Hi, thanks for that but i've tried it, and it says installation was successful but still keeps telling me "cubase resources......" when i try and open cubase, its well annoying. Steinbergs website does'nt offer much support neither. Might just try installing everything from scratch again. LO

You are in OS9 aren't you?

Make sure that you have removed all cubase components from your system folder.

Also take a good look at the cd, I have seen reports of damaged cds, that appear to work except for the authorization. They had to request a replacement cd.

Try downloading the file again, or request a cd update from Steinberg.

I have 5.0, but I've been getting into Logic lately.

Also check out the forums at http://www.cubase.net
and there is a vst-Mac forum at yahoo. somebody there may have a clue.

Hi,

I'm having exactly the same problem for the moment.
You said that the help was priceless, so I can conclude that you found somthing on that site. I'm trying to register to that site but there still happens nothing. What was the trick to make Cubase VST 32/5.1 work?
Grts,
Extijnsie.

There's a file called "Cubase Resources" that has to be in the same folder as your Cubase application. If you move it, Cubase won't work.
You might also have problems starting Cubase if you've recently defragmented/optimized the hard drive or rebuilt the desktop. In that case, just re-install it from the original CD.
