I have a question about monitors
I’m getting 21” apple monitor with my dual G5.I’m musician running a lot of DAWs and plug ins as well.
Of course I’ve seen the monitor but- in a long run- if anyone has experience – is this monitor large enough to work with or should rather go 23" which by the way does not seems that much bigger and it is twice that expensive?
Thanks
Milan

I have apple monitor of 20¨. Apple monitor of 23¨ is really greater. I would buy the one of 23¨.

A different opinion: If the difference in price is more than about $200, I'd go for the 21". The exceptions would be if you really needed every last square inch of screen real estate you can get (e.g., Protools with lots of plug-ins), or if you have bad eyesight and need to be able to run at a larger resolution.

There are three things that always I need, speed CPU , Ram memory and inches in the monitor. If you have budget, buys the maximum of these three things.

Luck!

You could buy two 20" for the price of one 23".

Cheers

Milca,

Greetings - I have a Mac 23" Al cinema display - and while I love it to bits - the comments above are pretty good. It is expensive and part of me wishes I'd done what Jimmy suggested - get two 20" displays - good price and you get to have arrange window and transport on one monitor and Mixer and plug-ins on the other - I think that works really well for DAWs.

It also works well for FinalCutPro, DVDStudioPro and Motion. laugh.gif

Have fun
